SS-Panzer-Division “Totenkopf” is a combination of SS troops. Formed in the period from October 16 to November 1, 1939 in the training camp of the SS in Dachau as a division of motorized infantry. The basis was formed by the ranks of the SS “Totenkopf”, as well as the officers of the SS reinforcement units. The first commander of the division “Totenkopf” was the founder of the concentration camp inspector Theodor Eike.
