Splendid submarine, the construction started on March 7, 1941, launched on January 13, 1942, accepted into the Royal Navy of Great Britain on August 8, 1942
Splendid submarine carried service in the Mediterranean, based in Malta.
The Splendid submarine sank the Italian submarine hunter San Paolo, the Italian destroyer Aviere, the Italian merchant ships Luigi Favorita, Devoli, XXI Aprile and Commercio, Italian auxiliary destroyer No. 107/Cleopatra, Italian tanker “Giorgio” and the German merchant ship “Emma”.

The Splendid submarine was submerged by the crew on April 21, 1943 as a result of damage received from the German destroyer Hermes. 30 sailors were captured, 18 died.
