The Soviet pilot battalion commissar Ivan Serbin reports on the readiness for takeoff from the cockpit of the I-16 fighter of the Red Army Air Force.

Serbin Ivan Ivanovich – a participant in the Soviet-Finnish war of 1939-1940. Member of the Great Patriotic War from the first days in the post of military commissar of the air squadron of the 13th Fighter Aviation Regiment of the Navy. He was a “flying commissar”, during the entire war personally participated in air battles. Ivan Serbin made 158 sorties, in 92 air battles, shot down 5 enemy planes personally and 3 in the group.
