July 13, 1942, together with another Soviet armored train “For the Motherland!” restrained Nazi attacks in the area of the Rodakovo station. On the 61st km of the Rodakovo-Melovaya railway junction on July 15, 1942, it was subjected to three air raids. The third raid involved 30 bombers. Explosions of bombs destroyed and dropped from the railway track an anti-aircraft platform and a platform with a heavy cannon, broke the tender of an armored locomotive. On the night of July 16, the surviving soldiers of the command of the Soviet armored train removed their weapons and left towards the Melovoy station.
