Maria Dementyevna Kucheryavaya, born in 1918, lieutenant of the medical service.
She began to fight on June 22, 1941, from the first day of the Great Patriotic War of the Soviet Union. In September 1941, during the battles on the Crimean peninsula, Maria Kucheryavaya received a shell shock. In September 1944 she was awarded the Order of the Red Star.

From the award list of Maria Kucheryavaya: “Lieutenant of the medical service Kucheryavaya Maria from 25 to 27 August 1944, in the village of Tamoy, Kogul district of the Moldavian SSR, with a large number of seriously wounded, working for two days without leaving the operating table, personally gave anesthesia to 62 seriously wounded soldiers, except In addition, she assisted in operations of 18 seriously wounded in the abdomen and chest”.
