Junkers Ju-88

Junkers Ju-88A-5 of Nazi Luftwaffe bomber reconnoitring the North Shetland Islands on December 25, 1940, was intercepted by two F4F fighters under sub-lieutenant Park and Lieutenant Carver. In the air battle, the German bomber was badly damaged, and the shooter was also seriously injured. Commander Carl Schipp masterfully performed an emergency landing on the island of South Ronaldsay (Scotland).
After the crew, an attempt was made to set fire to the aircraft, but their plans were foiled by two armed Scottish militiamen: farmer Thomas Harkus and his son Leslie, who arrived at the landing site, captured the Junkers crew.
