Japanese destroyer Amatsukaze (天津風 – heavenly wind) is a Japanese Kagero-class destroyer.

The Japanese destroyer construction began on February 14, 1939 at the “Uraga shipyard” in Tokyo. Launched on October 19, 1939, commissioned on October 26, 1940.

Unlike other Kagero-class destroyers, the  “Amatsukaze” of the Japanese Imperial Navy received the latest lightweight type boilers, which had a higher steam temperature and pressure than standard ones. Participated in the battle in the Java Sea, in the battles of Guadalcanal and the Solomon Islands. On April 6, 1945, the destroyer Amatsukaze was sunk by American B-25 bombers south of Taiwan, escorted by the battleship IJN Yamato.
