Gloster E.28/39

The British Gloster E.28 39 jet plane crashed during the test flight (plane W4046) was the second experimental model and existed 5 months before this crash.

The plane crashed to the ground after a failure during a test flight in Farnborough from an altitude of 11,000 meters on July 30, 1943.

Test pilot Douglas Davy escaped, jumping out of the car at an altitude of 6 thousand meters and after landing was taken to the hospital with shock and frostbite.

Douglas Davy died while testing another car in January 1944.
