Gloster E.28/39

The wreckage of the British Gloster E.28/39 jet aircraft (aircraft number W4046) that crashed during the test flight was the second experimental model and lasted 5 months before this crash.

The Gloster E.28/39 plane crashed to the ground after a failure during a test flight in Farnborough from an altitude of 11,000 meters on July 30, 1943.

Test pilot of Gloster E.28/39 Douglas Davy escaped, jumping out of the car at an altitude of 6 thousand meters and after landing was taken to the hospital with shock and frostbite.

Douglas Davy died while testing another aircraft in January 1944.
