The plane of Major John A. Hilger dropped one bomb each on the barracks, fuel depot, arsenal II of the Mitsubishi aircraft plant. After dropping bombs, Major John A. Hilger dived into a fuel and lubricants depot. Staff Sergeant Edwin V. Bain fired at the fuel tanks with a machine gun, but failed to cause a fire. The crew safely reached the territory of China and left the plane by parachute. Two days later the American pilots reached the rally point.
