Black American artist George Wright presents the painting to Soviet Red Army officer, Captain Orshet Shevtsov in August 1944. The picture shows the unloading of a tank delivered from the USA to the USSR under the Lend-Lease Act in the Soviet port by an American sailor and a Soviet woman.
The American artist George Wright was at that time a sailor of the American merchant fleet.
