The 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) is a tactical formation of the US Army, trained to conduct landing operations using military transport aircraft and helicopters.
The characteristic sleeve insignia gave rise to the official verbal name of the division the Screaming Eagles.
Currently, the 101st Division retains the name “Airborne” as a tribute to history. The headquarters and administration are located at the military base of Fort Campbell, Kentucky, USA.
