World War 2 photo: The destroyer of the project 7U Svobodniy from the Russian Black Sea Fleet in the South Bay of Sevastopol near the Refrigerator building fires at enemy positions from the 132nd and 22nd Infantry Divisions of the 54th Army Corps.
At the time of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, the destroyer Svobodny had not yet completed the mooring trials and in August 1941 moved to Sevastopol for completion. January 8, 1942 joined the Russian Black Sea Fleet of the Soviet Union.
The Svobodniy destroyer of the Soviet Black Sea Navy was sunk on June 10, 1942 by German bombers of the Nazi Luftwaffe during the siege of Sevastopol city.
