World War 2 Photo: Bato Damcheev is the Soviet front-line scout from the 23rd Guards Separate Reconnaissance company of the 27th Guards Rifle Division of the Red Army Infantry during the Great Patriotic War of the Soviet Union (June 22, 1941 – May 09, 1945). The Eastern Front.
Bato Damcheev is a Full Knight of the Order of Glory of the Soviet Union. Buryat. He started the war as a sniper, but then went to front-line scouts.
Presumably the picture was taken in 1944.
