United Kingdom Prime Minister Winston Churchill visited the American headquarters located in a small estate of the west of Saint Sauveur Lendelin (10-15km from the coast of English Channel) in Normandy, France.
Colonel-General Omar Bradley headed the 12th group of army since its inception from August 1, 1944. This group of armies became the largest American unit in the history of the United States, which included about 1.3 million personnel by the end of World War II.
