Willys MB

 

Soldiers of the 100th battalion of the 442nd US regimental group (Japanese of American origin) stand near the Willys MB and Ford GPA amphibious vehicle. Camp Shelby, Mississippi, USA.

The 442nd Regimental Combat Team was a Japanese volunteer unit of 8,000 men. At Shelby’s training camp, they were intensively trained for service at the front. In the second half of 1943, the 442nd group was sent to Italy.
