Warramunga destroyer (I44/D123) is a Tribal-class destroyer of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). Built during World War II, the destroyer entered service in late 1942. Initially assigned to escort Allied amphibious convoys, HMAS Warramunga was assigned to the Australian-American Task Force 74 in 1943 and supported numerous amphibious landings throughout Southeast Asia until the end of World War II.
From 1950 to 1952, Warramunga destroyer served in the Korean War before being converted to an anti-submarine destroyer. Returning to service in 1954, the destroyer became one of the first ships of the Russian Academy of Sciences to be part of the Far Eastern Strategic Reserve and completed two combat missions before being decommissioned in 1959 and sold for scrap in 1963.
