Vladimir Alkidov

 

Hero of the Soviet Union fighter pilot Captain Vladimir Alkidov (August 12, 1920 – November 27, 1982). On the fronts of the Great Patriotic War, he was present from the first day. The Eastern Front, Second World War.
He fought in the 87th, 521st, 434th and 172nd Fighter Wings of the Red Army Air Force. The commander of the 434th Fighter Aviation Regiment (8th Air Army, Stalingrad Front) Lieutenant Vladimir Alkidov made 300 sorties, shot down 10 enemy aircraft in air battles. On August 12, 1942, he was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union for courage and courage shown in battles with enemies.
