Vasily Ivanovich Levashov (1924-2001) is one of the few who, after the defeat of the underground anti-fascist organization “Young Guard”, escaped arrest and survived. When the arrests began, Vasily Levashov went to the town of Amvrosiyivka, where he was hiding with relatives. In September 1943 he was drafted into the Red Army and fought before the Victory, having passed the combat path from the Dnieper to Berlin.
The photo was taken after World War II in 1945-1947, while Vasily Levashov studied at the Leningrad Naval Political School.
