Panzerkampfwagen VI Ausf. H1, Tiger I is a German heavy tank from World War II, the prototype of which was the VK4501 (H), developed in 1942 by Henschel under the direction of Erwin Aders. Along with the prototype of the Henschel firm, the Reich leadership was presented with the Ferdinand Porsche project – VK4501 (P), but the military commission chose the Henschel option, although Adolf Hitler favored the Porsche product.
