Three Canadian sailors

 

Three Canadian sailors who escaped from the sunken Canadian corvette Alberni (HMCS Alberni).
The Alberni corvette was sunk on 21 August 1944 by a torpedo from the German submarine U-480 in the English Channel; sank within one minute of the torpedo explosion. 59 Canadian sailors were killed, 31 were rescued.
