The transfer of frigates from the US Navy to Soviet sailors. 1945 year.
American patrol frigates of the US Navy of the Takoma type (displacement 1509 / 2238-2415 tons, speed 20 knots, armament: 3 of the 76 mm guns, 2 of the 40 mm twin Bofors, 9 of the 20 mm Erlikon, 1 jet bomb Hedgehog. The frigates were built in the years 1943-1945.
In 1945, 28 ships of this type were transferred to the USSR in Lend-Lease, where they were reclassified to guard ships and received the designation “EC-1” – “EC-30”.
On February 17, 1950, all 28 ships were excluded from the Navy of the USSR in connection with the return to the US Navy in Maizuru (Japan).
