The soldiers of the Red Army photo was taken at the beginning of October 1944 in the vicinity of the town of Novi Bechei in Northern Serbia (Vojvodina). According to the author of the photo, a group of Russian soldiers and Yugoslav partisans was photographed an hour before the attack. According to him, all the soldiers depicted in the picture died during the assault (Novi Bechei was defended by the Hungarian fascists).
