The ruins of Coventry

 

The ruins of the English city of Coventry, destroyed by German aerial bombardment on November 14, 1940.
437 German bombers dropped 56 tons of incendiary bombs, 394 tons of high-explosive bombs and 127 parachute mines. 554 people died, 865 were injured. 4,330 houses and three quarters of all factories in the city were completely destroyed.
