75th Bomber Squadron was recruited mainly from the New Zealanders, but the crews often included the British and representatives of other countries of the British Commonwealth. The main objectives of the 75th Bomber Squadron were night raids on targets located in the Nazi-occupied Europe. By the end of the war, almost a thousand members of the 75th Bomber Squadron died or were captured, which is one of the highest combat losses.
