The grave of a British pilot

 

The grave of a British pilot from the 6th squadron of the RAF next to the wreckage of his Hurricane McIID attack aircraft in North Africa.

The inscription on the grave cross: “The 6th Squadron of the Royal Air Force. Sergeant F. Harris. Killed in battle 03/24/43. 20 years.”

The Hurricane McIID photo was taken by the Allies during the operation to break through the German Maret defensive line in Tunisia.
