In the foreground, the commander the Colonel Guard Abram Temnik. A. M. Temnik is a native of the village of Chernigovka, (now the urban-type settlement) in the Zaporozhye region of the Ukrainian SSR, a professional soldier, a member of the fighting on Khalkhin Gol in 1939. The commander of the 1st Guards Tank Brigade from September 26, 1944 to April 29, 1945. He was mortally wounded by mines close gap during the storming of Berlin when the assault personally led a group of officers of the brigade headquarters. He died the next day, April 29, 1945. Buried in the Tiergarten (West Berlin).
