From the book of the Russian writer Yuri Ivanov “Kamikaze. “On 16 April 1945, the destroyer Pringle in the Okinawa area simultaneously attacked three Japanese dive bomber D3A Val, piloted by kamikaze pilots, the first of which was shot down and the others crashed into the ship, one of them crashed in the destroyer between the chimneys.Giant explosion broke the Pringle in half, it sank in six minutes, losing 65 people killed and 110 wounded”.
