The largest caliber of artillery that the Soviet Army used in the assault on Belgrade was the ZiS-3 guns and ISU-152 self-propelled guns of the 4th Guards Mechanized Corps. At the request of Broz Tito, the use of bombing and assault aircraft, as well as large-caliber artillery, was prohibited in Belgrade.
