The Soviet Zharkiy destroyer of the Red Navy is a former American destroyer Cowell (USS Cowell (DD-167).
Zharkiy destroyer entered service in 1919.
On September 23, 1940, the Zharkiy destroyer was transferred to Great Britain and renamed Brighton (HMS Brighton).
July 16, 1944 Zharkiy destroyer transferred to the USSR, served in the Northern Fleet. In 1949, returned to Britain and cut to metal.
