Soviet sailors from the crew of the battleship of the Red Banner Baltic Fleet The October Revolution is sent to the defense of Leningrad as a Marine Corps unit.

On August 21, 1941, thirteen Soviet sailors and ship spotters departed to the front from the battleship October Revolution, a week later – ten more Soviet sailors assigned to the Red Army as political fighters.
On September 9, a group of artillerymen in the amount of 92 people was sent to the Izhora region, along with four guns of the anti-mine division removed from the ship. On September 17, a volunteer battalion of 453 Soviet sailors was sent to the front.
