Front portrait of the Soviet poet Yevgeny A. Dolmatovsky. From 1939 to 1945 Yevgeny Dolmatovsky as a military correspondent was in the active units of the Soviet army. In 1941, he was surrounded and taken prisoner, from which he fled again to the front (these events are reflected in his story “The Green Brahma”).
