The Soviet Pe-8 4M 35A heavy bomber of the Red Army Air Force at an airfield before a test flight.

Under the wings of the Pe-8 bomber are suspended two poured aviation instrument VAP-500. The VAP-500 contained in itself 500 kg of an incendiary mixture of kerosene and balls of white phosphorus.
