Yak-3 is a Soviet single-engine fighter plane. The Yak-3 aircraft was created in 1943 by a team headed by A.S. Yakovlev, developing the Yak-1 fighter that had already proved itself in combat. Designers were tasked to increase survivability, combat characteristics and firepower. To do this, they needed to reduce weight and increase power and speed.
