Soviet soldiers of the 8th Krasnopresnenskaya Infantry Division of the People’s Militia was formed in early July 1941, after the battles near Yelnia on October 6-7, 1941, practically ceased to exist: more than half of the personnel were lost, the division was cut off from the main forces of the Red Army. Part of the surviving soldiers joined the partisan detachments, part of it came to Soviet territory. Officially disbanded at the end of November 1941.
