The photo captures the smoking flight deck of the aircraft carrier Ticonderoga after hitting a Japanese kamikaze plane.

The bomb exploded immediately after breaking through the flight deck ofTiconderoga aircraft carrier at the hangar ceiling. Ahead of the nose lift of an airplane lift clouds of smoke.
