The Russian submarine Shch-406 from the beginning of World War II made four military campaigns and, according to official figures, sank 5 vessels with a total displacement of 11.660 gross tonnage.
On May 29, 1943, the Russian submarine Shch-406 left on its last military campaign from which it did not return. The exact causes and date of the death of the boat are still unknown.
