Russian prisoners of war

Four Russian prisoners of war and a German guard repair tramways on the boulevard of Taras Shevchenko in occupied Kiev. The photo was taken 10 days after the fall of Kiev by the German military photographer Johannes Hahle, who served in the 637th company of propaganda, which was part of the 6th German army that seized the capital of the Ukrainian SSR.

Russian Prisoners of War are talking about something with a German escort standing at the tram car “pulman” with the number 1023. On the stencil there is a route No. 7, following along the boulevard of Taras Shevchenko and the Brest-Litovsk motorway (Prospekt Pobedy) to st. Field.
