Prague

On February 14, 1945, 62 of B-17 bombers of the eighth American air army dropped 152 tons of bombs to Prague city, the capital of Czechoslovakia. It destroyed 93, damaged more than 1500 buildings. Over 700 residents of Prague died. The bombing of residential quarters by the American command was later explained by a mistake in the navigation of the aircraft.
