Pocket battleship “Admiral Scheer“, sunk by British aircraft at the shipyard in Kiel city during Second World War.
On the night of April 9-10, 1945, during the raid of 600 bombers (according to other sources, 300 bombers participated in the raid) “Admiral Scheer” received 5 hits of air bombs. The pocket battleship tipped upwards with a keel near the quay wall. Most of the crew was on the shore, but 32 people, of those that were on board the ship, were killed.
