The Pinsk partisan in the foreground carries a 7.62-mm DS-39 heavy machine gun (Degtyareva easel model 1939), the team of such a machine gun consisted of four people.
The Pinsk partisans acted against the Nazis at the junction of the Minsk, Polesskaya, Baranovichi, Brest, Rovno and Volyn regions of the Byelorussian SSR.
