Mo i Rana is a town in Rana, Nordland County, Norway, located south of the Arctic Circle in the Helgeland region. The city is called Mo to distinguish it from other places named Mo – in particular the city of Mosjøen, also located in Helgeland, although locally the city is usually called simply Mo. Moo’s postal address was changed to Mo-i-Rana in 1999. On January 1, 2009, the city’s population was 17,894 inhabitants, and the city was the largest (by population) in Helgeland.
