Soviet fighter MiG-3 from the 122nd Fighter Aviation Regiment of the Red Army Air Force during a flight at low altitude.
Lieutenant Vitaly Rybalko is in the fighter aircraft cockpit.
Mig-3 photo was taken in August 1942 during the First Rzhev-Sychevsk operation.
On the fuselage of the fighter under the cockpit there is an inscription “For the Motherland”. This fighter was originally part of the 172nd Fighter Aviation Regiment, then, during rearmament, it was transferred to the 122nd Fighter Aviation Regiment.
