submarine U-66

Meeting of the German submarine U-66, returned from the 6th combat campaign, in the port of Lorient.

This military campaign in the Caribbean Sea was the first offensive of a U-66 submarine under the command of a young captain-lieutenant Frederick Markworth who was at that time 27 years old. Before that, the boat was commanded by Robert-Richard Zapp, and the U-66 was considered one of the most successful submarines Kriegsmarine.
