Head of the air route Alaska-Siberia (ALSIB) Hero of the Soviet Union the Lieutenant General of the Red Army Mark Shevelev (October 24, 1904 – October 06, 1991).

ALSIB (“Alaska-Siberia”, “Krasnoyarsk-Uelkal air route”, “Krasnoyarsk air route”) is an air route between Alaska (USA) and the USSR, built and started operating in 1942. It was the Soviet part of the air route for the distillation of American aircraft supplied to the USSR from the USA under the Lend-Lease Act.
