Lyubov Shevtsova

 

Lyubov Shevtsova is one of the organizers and active participants of the underground Komsomol organization “Young Guard” in the occupied city of Krasnodon, Voroshilovgrad (now Lugansk) region, Ukraine.
January 8, 1943 Luba Shevtsova was arrested by the Krasnodon police. After torture, she was shot in Rattlewood on February 9, 1943. Lyubov Shevtsova was buried in a mass grave of victims of fascism in the center of Rovenka in the square named after the “Young Guard”.

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of September 13, 1943, Lyubov Shevtsova and four other members of the anti-fascist organization Young Guard were posthumously awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union.
