Lieutenant Colonel O’Conner

 

British Army Lieutenant Colonel O’Conner accepts the surrender of the German tank brigade “Norway” in Trandum, in Wehrmacht-occupied Norway.

To the right of Lieutenant Colonel O’Conner salutes the brigade commander, Colonel Georg Maetschke.

The small tank battalion of the brigade “Norway” was armed with Pz.Kpfw. III medium tanks of various modifications (including the Pz. III Ausf. N). The brigade did not take part in the hostilities as an independent combat unit.
