Karl-Ernst Ratgens was the son-in-law of the German field marshal Hans Günther Adolf Ferdinand von Kluge. He was executed on August 30, 1944, according to the verdict of the People’s Court of Germany (Volksgerichtshof) for participating in the conspiracy against Adolf Hitler on July 20, 1944.
