June 22 1941, the first day of the Great Patriotic War of the Soviet Russia, battle of the bridge in Przemysl (in 1941 the Soviet city of Peremyshl) and the first dead Nazi invaders on Soviet soil (the soldiers of the 101st Infantry Division of the Wehrmacht). Eastern Front, the Second World War.
The city was captured by German army in the June 22 1941, but the next morning was liberated by the Red Army and border guards and held until June 27, 1941.
