The battle for Bataan (January 7, 1942 – April 9, 1942) – one of the decisive battles of the Philippine operation. The suppression of the resistance of the US-Philippine army on the Bataan peninsula and the island of Correchidore allowed Japan to establish control over the island of Luzon and the entire Philippine archipelago.
